Our story

Fire you can trust

A Tradition Carried Forward

I grew up beside my grandmother's hearth, on a mountainside lined with olive groves and almond orchards. I'd watch her turn almost nothing: dried leaves, almond shells, a few shavings, into a fire that meant we'd be warm that night. She taught me that fire wasn't just heat. It was a promise of warmth, security, and togetherness. To a child, the way she coaxed flames from almost nothing felt like pure magic.

Years later, I went back to that same mountainside and saw families still struggling to get a fire started on cold, damp nights, even with wood on hand. Meanwhile, fallen leaves, almond shells, and orchard scraps sat scattered and unused across the slopes, the very things my grandmother used to coax a flame to life. I realized she had already shown me the answer. She just hadn't known how far it could go.

Every IgnFyr is still made her way, by hand, using the same instinct she taught me. It's just turned into something you can hold in one hand and trust every time. The almond shells from those same orchards become the spark. Struggle becomes something steady and reliable.

She gave our home fire when there wasn't much else to give. That's still what I'm trying to hand you, one IgnFyr at a time.
